Ms Yong is a career public servant who has served in various agencies including Ministries of Finance, Trade & Industry, Home Affairs, Communications & IT, before becoming Permanent Secretary. She has led 4 Ministries as Permanent Secretary, in Manpower, Health, Public Service Division (PMO) and National Research Foundation (PMO), before her current appointment at MCI. An economist and MBA by training, she served as Principal Private Secretary to then Deputy Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, before being the founding CEO of the Infocomm Development Authority, and later on, its Chairman. She was also the founding Chairman of the Workforce Development Agency and Chairman of the Civil Service College. She presently leads the Ministry of Communications and Information which aims to build a digital economy and society, and informs and engages Singaporeans. It connects people to community, to government and to opportunity, and presents Singapore to the world. Her concurrent role in Cybersecurity aims to keep Singapore secure from cyber threats. She is Chairman of SG Innovate and Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Singapore Symphony Group.

Associate Prof Leo Anthony Celi (MIT)
Clinical Research Director, LCP MIT
Leo Anthony Celi has practiced medicine in three continents, giving him broad perspectives in healthcare delivery. As clinical research director and principal research scientist at the MIT Laboratory for Computational Physiology (LCP), and as an attending physician at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC), he brings together clinicians and data scientists to support research using data routinely collected in the process of care. His group built and maintains the public-access Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC) database, which holds clinical data from over 60,000 stays in BIDMC intensive care units (ICU). It is an unparalleled research resource; over 5000 investigators from more than 70 countries have free access to the clinical data under a data use agreement. In 2016, LCP partnered with Philips eICU Research Institute to host the eICU database with more than 2 million ICU patients admitted across the United States.Leo also founded and co-directs Sana, a cross-disciplinary organization based at the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science at MIT, whose objective is to leverage information technology to improve health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. He is one of the course directors for HST.936 – global health informatics to improve quality of care, and HST.953 – collaborative data science in medicine, both at MIT. He is an editor of the textbook for each course, both released under an open access license. The textbook “Secondary Analysis of Electronic Health Records” came out in October 2016 and was downloaded more the 100,000 times in the first year of publication. The massive open online course HST.936x “Global Health Informatics to Improve Quality of Care” was launched under edX in February 2017. Finally, Leo has spoken in 25 countries about the value of data in improving health outcomes.

Associate Professor Daniel Ting is the Director of Singapore Health Service (SingHealth) AI Program, Head of AI and Digital Innovation in Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), Associate Professor in Ophthalmology with Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore. At the global setting, Dr Ting serves in several AI executive committee (American Academy of Ophthalmology, USA and STARD, UK) and AI editorial boards (Nature Digital Medicine, Frontiers in Medicine and Ophthalmology). In 2017, he was also the US-ASEAN Fulbright Scholar who visited the Johns Hopkins University to deepen the AI collaboration between US and the ASEAN regions. He is the regular invited chair, moderator and invited speakers in scientific conferences and prestigious universities (e.g., Trinity College at Cambridge, Oxford University, Johns Hopkins University and etc). He has published >180 peer-reviewed papers in highly prestigious journals such as JAMA, NEJM, Nature Medicine and etc, and also 3 patents in the deep learning domains. In the recent ExpertScape ranking, he is also ranked the world’s most influential deep learning researcher across all domains in healthcare for the past 10 years (2010-2021).
For the accomplishment, Dr Ting was recognized by many top-tiered international AI and ophthalmology societies in winning many prestigious scientific awards, including the MICCAI OMIA Prestigious Achievement Award (2020), ARVO Bert Glaser Award for Innovative Research in Retina (2020), USA Macula Society Evangelos Gragoudas Award (2019). With the advancement of AI technology, Daniel hopes to harness the power of digital technology, including big data, deep learning and blockchain, to improve patients’ outcome, experience, reduce health economic burden and more importantly, narrow the gap of inequality of health care access, standard and delivery globally.

Dr. Aung Myint Oo @ Ye Jian Guo is a Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery and a Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.
He was awarded Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to undergo his fellowship training in advance minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea. He is a member of international societies for endo-laparoscopic surgeons and bariatric surgeons. He is currently the executive board member and immediate past scientific chairman of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS). He is Chairman of Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore, as well as member of the Communication Committee of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). He also sits on the executive committee of SingSPEN (Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Singapore) and is also a member of the Singapore Cancer Society Gastric Cancer Awareness Month Committee. With over 15 years of industry experience, Chris brings deep healthcare and life sciences expertise along with a foundation in technology and its application to multiple industries. Dr Yuan Ni, Ph.D

Dr Yuan Ni got her bachelor's degree from Computer science department, Fudan University in 2003 and her Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore, School of Computing at 2007. Before joining PingAn Health Tech, she was a senior research staff member in IBM Research, China. Her research expertise includes natural language processing, machine learning and semantic technology areas. In IBM, she has taken part in the Watson for Jeopardy! Project and Debater Project from 2008 to 2013. After that, she has worked on applying the technologies into the Healthcare industry. Dr Keren Priyadarshini leads the company’s healthcare business segment across 17 markets in Asia Pacific. Prior to Red Hat, Marc served as a Product Manager/Product Owner at Anthem where he led one of the largest clinical application development projects for the company. Marc has led the product teams at several startup and early stage companies including serving as CPO for Elva, a wearable medical device company, and as CTO for Health Access Solutions a clinical software company, and for EmLogis, a healthcare scheduling software company. For ophthalmology, he is the co-founder of EyRIS Pte Ltd, a spin-off company that has now licensed the deep learning technology to >20 countries worldwide in screening for 3 major blinding eye diseases, namely diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma suspect and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a potentially blinding eye condition, for global population with diabetes that is projected to affect 1 billion people worldwide by 2040 (statistics from the World Health Organization). Recently, he has also developed a deep learning system in screening for myopia, a disease that is projected to affect 5 billion people by 2050. This deep learning system was encrypted using a novel state-of-art blockchain platform that is also developed by his AI lab to ensure data transparency and immutability.

Dr. Aung Myint Oo @ Ye Jian Guo is a Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery and a Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.
He is also a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and both a clinical teacher and the Clinical Module Lead for Gastrointestinal System, with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Dr. Aung completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore. He was awarded Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to undergo his fellowship training in advance minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea. Dr. Aung is active in both clinical research and teaching. He was awarded the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship in 2013 to pursue Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) at National University of Singapore and he was conferred MCI in 2016. He is also a Co-Investigator of international gastric cancer research trials. Not only has he published his research works in peer reviewed medical journals, he is also a reviewer of peer-reviewed medical journals. He is currently an instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses, as well as a core faculty/ faculty of the Surgical Residency programmes in Singapore. He is also an e-tutor of MSc in Surgical Science, Edinburgh Surgical Science Qualifications, UK and a Visiting Lecturer to the Department of Thoracic Surgery, University of Medicine 1, Yangon in Myanmar, as well as a member of the Surgical Specialty Board in General Surgery with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

His group built and maintains the public-access Medical Information Mart for Intensive Care (MIMIC) database, which holds clinical data from over 60,000 stays in BIDMC intensive care units (ICU). It is an unparalleled research resource; over 5000 investigators from more than 70 countries have free access to the clinical data under a data use agreement. In 2016, LCP partnered with Philips eICU Research Institute to host the eICU database with more than 2 million ICU patients admitted across the United States.
Leo also founded and co-directs Sana, a cross-disciplinary organization based at the Institute for Medical Engineering and Science at MIT, whose objective is to leverage information technology to improve health outcomes in low- and middle-income countries. He is one of the course directors for HST.936 – global health informatics to improve quality of care, and HST.953 – collaborative data science in medicine, both at MIT. He is an editor of the textbook for each course, both released under an open access license. The textbook “Secondary Analysis of Electronic Health Records” came out in October 2016 and was downloaded more the 100,000 times in the first year of publication. The massive open online course HST.936x “Global Health Informatics to Improve Quality of Care” was launched under edX in February 2017. Associate Professor Daniel Ting is the Director of Singapore Health Service (SingHealth) AI Program, Head of AI and Digital Innovation in Singapore Eye Research Institute (SERI), Associate Professor in Ophthalmology with Duke-NUS Medical School Singapore.
For ophthalmology, he is the co-founder of EyRIS Pte Ltd, a spin-off company that has now licensed the deep learning technology to >20 countries worldwide in screening for 3 major blinding eye diseases, namely diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma suspect and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a potentially blinding eye condition, for global population with diabetes that is projected to affect 1 billion people worldwide by 2040 (statistics from the World Health Organization). Recently, he has also developed a deep learning system in screening for myopia, a disease that is projected to affect 5 billion people by 2050. This deep learning system was encrypted using a novel state-of-art blockchain platform that is also developed by his AI lab to ensure data transparency and immutability.
At the global setting, Dr Ting serves in several AI executive committee (American Academy of Ophthalmology, USA and STARD, UK) and AI editorial boards (Nature Digital Medicine, Frontiers in Medicine and Ophthalmology). In 2017, he was also the US-ASEAN Fulbright Scholar who visited the Johns Hopkins University to deepen the AI collaboration between US and the ASEAN regions.
He is the regular invited chair, moderator and invited speakers in scientific conferences and prestigious universities (e.g., Trinity College at Cambridge, Oxford University, Johns Hopkins University and etc).
He has published >180 peer-reviewed papers in highly prestigious journals such as JAMA, NEJM, Nature Medicine and etc, and also 3 patents in the deep learning domains. In the recent ExpertScape ranking, he is also ranked the world’s most influential deep learning researcher across all domains in healthcare for the past 10 years (2010-2021).

Dr. Aung Myint Oo @ Ye Jian Guo is a Senior Consultant Surgeon in the Department of General Surgery and a Deputy Chief Medical Informatics Officer in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore.
He is also a clinical senior lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and both a clinical teacher and the Clinical Module Lead for Gastrointestinal System, with Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.
Dr. Aung completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore. He was awarded Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) scholarship to undergo his fellowship training in advance minimally invasive upper gastrointestinal surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea. He is a member of international societies for endo-laparoscopic surgeons and bariatric surgeons. He is currently the scientific chairman of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS), vice chairman of Chapter of General Surgeons, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine Singapore, as well as member of the Communication Committee of International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO). He also sits on the executive committee of SingSPEN (Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, Singapore) and is also a member of the Singapore Cancer Society Gastric Cancer Awareness Month Committee. He is actively involved in the Digital Transformation Project of ELSA (Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia) and is also the Co-Chair of ELSA's Communication & Informatics Committee.
Dr. Aung is active in both clinical research and teaching. He was awarded the Ministry of Health Healthcare Research Scholarship in 2013 to pursue Master of Clinical Investigation (MCI) at National University of Singapore and he was conferred MCI in 2016. He is also a Co-Investigator of international gastric cancer research trials. Not only has he published his research works in peer reviewed medical journals, he is also a reviewer of peer-reviewed medical journals. He is currently an instructor of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) courses, as well as a core faculty/ faculty of the Surgical Residency programmes in Singapore. is a physician by training and spent 10 years in an academic and research setting in Chicago, Illinois, and Baltimore, Maryland, in the U.S. She then transitioned her career over to the pharmaceutical industry. She worked in Pharmacovigilance and Medical Affairs in the Philippines, before moving to Singapore in 2010. She has led various regional Medical Affairs functions at a number of multinational healthcare companies, joining MSD in 2016.
Aileen received her medical degree from the University of the Philippines. She is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and has advanced training in infectious diseases, microbiology, public health and epidemiology.

A thought leader in decision science and the application of analytics, Steve works to ensure that analytics solutions at SAS deliver maximum value for the public and financial sectors around the world.
Prior to SAS, Steve held several leadership positions during his 12 years in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Following the events of September 11th, 2001, Steve led the design and application of quantitative analysis to inform some of the United States’ most challenging security decisions, most recently as the Director of the National Biosurveillance Integration Center. Over the course of his career in Government, he led numerous efforts to provide analytic decision support to senior officials in the White House and across the U.S. Government. Prof Jimmy So’s special interests are in gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, esophageal reflux, achalasia and obesity. He has published more than 190 peer reviewed scientific papers and received over S$20 million research grants. He was invited regularly to speak at International Gastric Cancer Congress, Annual Scientific Meetings of Japanese Gastric Cancer Association and Korean International Gastric Cancer Week. He has also presented his works at American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery. He is founding president of the Asia-Pacific Gastro-esophageal Cancer Congress in 2006. He is also a founding member of Asia-Pacific Bariatric Surgery Society and international Society of Study of pleura and Peritoneum (ISSPP). He was the president of the 1st Scientific Congress of ISSPP in November 2019. Prof So is the editor of Gastric Cancer, an official journal of International Gastric Cancer Association. He delivered the Yahya Cohen Memorial lecture at Academy of Medicine of Singapore in 2018 and he is the recipient of the Peritoneal Prize Award 2020 by ISSPP.

is an Associate Professor at Department of Population Health Sciences, Weill Cornell Medicine, Cornell University. His major research interest is data mining, machine learning and their applications in health data science. He has published on the top venues of related areas such as ICML, KDD, NeurIPS, AAAI, JAMA Internal Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, etc. His papers have received over 13,400 citations so far with an H-index 57. His (or his students’) papers have won 7 best paper (or nomination) awards at international academic conferences. His team won the championship of the NIPS/Kaggle Challenge on Classification of Clinically Actionable Genetic Mutations in 2017 and Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative data challenge organized by Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2016. He is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He earned a Master in Public Health degree with a focus in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and is currently the Program Manager for the Philips eICU Research Institute which supports collaborative research between industry, academia and clinicians using de-identified clinical data representing over 6 million ICU patients. Assistant Professor/Emerging Scholar of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NYU Abu Dhabi
is an Assistant Professor Emerging Scholar in Computer Engineering at NYU Abu Dhabi, where she leads the Clinical Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. Her research expertise is in data science and machine learning for healthcare, data analytics for large-scale multi-modal data, and model interpretability. Her projects focus on real-world clinical problems to inform decision-making, including patient prognosis and diagnosis using electronic health records and medical imaging. Dr Richard Searle
Customer Solutions Director, Fortanix
is Customer Solutions Director at Fortanix and the serving General Member’s Representative to the Governing Board of the Confidential Computing Consortium. He gained a Doctorate in Business Administration from Henley Business School by developing a formal model of perceptual change and has had an extensive career in systems engineering, including work in the fields of natural language processing and social network analysis. His current projects involve the application of confidential computing to protect data in use and to secure sensitive machine learning and artificial intelligence applications across healthcare, financial services, government, and military use cases.

Dr. Shunsuke Takaki. MD. Ph.D.
Chair of the Department of Intensive Care Medicine at Yokohama City University Hospital
is the chair of the department of Intensive Care Medicine at Yokohama City University Hospital, and also head of Tele-ICU committee at the Japanese Society of Intensive Care Medicine.
He has trained anaesthesiology, emergency medicine and intensive care in Japan and completed clinical fellow at National heart center at Malaysia and clinical research fellow at department of intensive care medicine at Sydney Prince of Wales Hospital. My current research interests include Tele-medicine, big data analysis especially using panel data, face recognition in acute care medicine.

Asst/Prof Judy Wawira Gichoya
Department of Radiology & Imaging Sciences, Emory University
is a multidisciplinary researcher, trained as both an informatician and a clinically active radiologist. She is an assistant professor at Emory university, and works in Interventional Radiology and Informatics. She has been funded through the Grand Challenges Canada, NBIB and NSF ECCS. Her career focus is on validating machine learning models for health in real clinical settings, exploring explainability, fairness, and a specific focus on how algorithms fail. She has worked on the curation of datasets for the SIIM (Society for Imaging Informatics in Medicine) hackathon and ML committee. She volunteers on the ACR and RSNA machine learning committees to support the AI ecosystem to advance development and use of AI in medicine. She is currently working on the sociotechnical context for AI explainability for radiology, especially the dimensions of human factors that govern user perceptions and preferences of XAI systems.

Dr. Denis Bauer
Principal Research Scientist, CSIRO, Australia
is CSIRO’s Principal Research Scientist in transformational bioinformatics and an internationally recognised expert in machine learning and cloud-based genomics. She is an adjunct associate professor at Macquarie University and keynoted the International Bioinformatics Conference Jakarta ‘19, AWS Summit 2019, Open Data Science India ‘18. Her achievements include developing open-source machine-learning bioinformatics software used by 10,000 researchers annually and contributing to Australia’s COVID-19 response.

Dr. Laura Wynter
Head of the RealWorld AI group at the IBM Research Singapore Lab
areas of expertise involve the use of AI as well as optmization, equilibrium modeling and statistics-based methods for enabling effective real-time decision making for planning and operational problems in numerous domains. She has been named an IBM Master Inventor.
Her work spans the full lifecycle of a research solution from the definition of the research problem and its characterization, to the development of effective algorithms, to collaborations with the IBM software division culminating in the creation of commercial software products from the models and algorithms developed.
Yuma Nambu
Research Scientist,Yokohama City University Hospital
is a collaborative researcher of Yokohama City University, Department of Anaesthesiology. He has completed Risk Masters in Durham University in the UK and researched public health, epidemiology and statistics. After graduation, he worked at an international NGO and a leading IT networking company as a system engineer in order to expand Tele-medicine system. His current research interests include Tele-medicine, machine learning, and infectious disease epidemiology.

Dr. Keren Priyadarshini
