Prof Jimmy So
Head & Senior Consultant, Division of Surgical Oncology, National University Cancer Institute, Singapore (NCIS)
graduated from Faculty of Medicine at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1991. He received his surgical training in National University Hospital, Singapore. He received fellowship training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, USA. He was also appointed as visiting consultant surgeon in Esophageal and Gastric Surgery at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK.
Prof Jimmy So’s special interests are in gastric cancer, esophageal cancer, esophageal reflux, achalasia and obesity. He has published more than 190 peer reviewed scientific papers and received over S$20 million research grants. He was invited regularly to speak at International Gastric Cancer Congress, Annual Scientific Meetings of Japanese Gastric Cancer Association and Korean International Gastric Cancer Week. He has also presented his works at American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), and World Congress of Endoscopic Surgery. He is founding president of the Asia-Pacific Gastro-esophageal Cancer Congress in 2006. He is also a founding member of Asia-Pacific Bariatric Surgery Society and international Society of Study of pleura and Peritoneum (ISSPP). He was the president of the 1st Scientific Congress of ISSPP in November 2019. Prof So is the editor of Gastric Cancer, an official journal of International Gastric Cancer Association. He delivered the Yahya Cohen Memorial lecture at Academy of Medicine of Singapore in 2018 and he is the recipient of the Peritoneal Prize Award 2020 by ISSPP.
Dr Guotong Xie, PhD
PingAn Group Chief Healthcare Scientist
is leading the R&D of PingAn Health Technology. Making AI as the core technology and PingAn Cloud as the foundation, PingAn Health Tech builds the end-to-end healthcare solution which includes disease prediction, smart triage and pre-diagnosis, smart imaging, clinical decision support system (CDSS) and personalized patient management. PingAn Health Tech has set up the collaboration with many provinces & city level governments and has deployed the solutions in hundreds of health providers. Before joining PingAn, Dr Xie was the director of IBM Research China cognitive healthcare department and co-lead the IBM global healthcare strategy. He has more than 15 years in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and applying the technologies in healthcare areas. He has published more than 50 papers in top international conferences and obtained more than 40 patents. He has obtained IBM outstanding awards three times and was granted the best IBMer in 2016.
Dr Fei Wang, PhD,FAMIA
Associate Professor at Weill Cornell Medicine
is an Associate Professor at Department of Population Health Sciences, Weill Cornell Medicine, Cornell University. His major research interest is data mining, machine learning and their applications in health data science. He has published on the top venues of related areas such as ICML, KDD, NeurIPS, AAAI, JAMA Internal Medicine, Annals of Internal Medicine, etc. His papers have received over 13,400 citations so far with an H-index 57. His (or his students’) papers have won 7 best paper (or nomination) awards at international academic conferences. His team won the championship of the NIPS/Kaggle Challenge on Classification of Clinically Actionable Genetic Mutations in 2017 and Parkinson’s Progression Markers Initiative data challenge organized by Michael J. Fox Foundation in 2016. Dr. Wang is the recipient of the NSF CAREER Award in 2018, as well as the inaugural research leadership award in IEEE International Conference on Health Informatics (ICHI) 2019. Dr. Wang is the chair of the Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining working group in American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA). Dr. Wang is a Fellow of AMIA.
Dr Yuan Ni, Ph.D
Head of Medical Natural Language Processing Department, PingAn Health Tech
got her bachelor's degree from Computer science department, Fudan University in 2003 and her Ph.D. degree from the National University of Singapore, School of Computing at 2007. Before joining PingAn Health Tech, she was a senior research staff member in IBM Research, China. Her research expertise includes natural language processing, machine learning and semantic technology areas. In IBM, she has taken part in the Watson for Jeopardy! Project and Debater Project from 2008 to 2013. After that, she has worked on applying the technologies into the Healthcare industry. Dr Ni has published more than 20 papers in the top conferences including SIGMOD, ICDE, ISWC, WSDM, CIKM, MEDINFO, MIE and etc., and she has worked as the program committee for top conferences such as CIKM, ISWC, CSWC, APWeb and etc.
